According to research, golfers' handicaps are not reducing. There have been great advancements in technology and a deeper understanding of the human body, yet scores still aren't dropping.
I believe the answer is simple — poor learning environments. It's time to change that, and that is the goal of David Banks Golf.
A coach oversees the entire learning process — the concept, the instruction, the training, and the game application. This includes physical and mental preparation and development as well as goal-setting objectives.
A teacher provides and conveys information and transfers knowledge, but the relationship tends to be one-way. Coaching is a continuous, two-way exchange that adapts to every athlete.
Too often the “What to do” becomes the focus — the “How to do it” should be. I prefer to incorporate the “Why to do it”, grounded in physics and human physiology.
Golf is a motor skill where we develop and ingrain movement patterns — knowing which muscles are involved and how to create the movement yields elevated success.

Conceptual
There are many misconceptions about how to swing the golf club and why the ball does what it does. We make sure you have a clear understanding of proper concepts. When the brain has a better plan, the body will do a better job.
Technical
Improved technique assists in improving performance. Understanding “WHAT” to do is important. Learning “HOW” to create those movements is imperative.
Physical
The club moves the ball, but the body moves the club. We work with you to make sure you are physically able and aware of the muscles being used to make the proper movements.
Tactical
Your ability to transfer your skills to the course and your course management directly affects the outcome of your score. Learn to take your skill to the course and get the most out of it.
Mental
Athletes need a proper mindset and approach to perform at their best. The brain controls the body — and the brain can be trained just as the body can.
Equipment
The golf club moves the ball, and your clubs must be suited to enable you to move the ball most effectively. Loft, lie angle, length, weight, shaft flex — and the proper golf ball — all matter.
